Doing a combined update this month because I got too busy to sit down and write an update in Feb!
February Summary
So this month, I ... uh ... started my post-grad program. 🫠I am wondering the same thing everyone else asks me "why?" - I don't know, I guess I underestimated how much of a challenge it was going to be. Consequently, these couple of months I have stepped away from my comic and illustration work to focus on my postgrad and a new scrapbooking hobby I started.
Nevertheless, I did manage to accomplish something this month. February is the 1 year anniversary of Arcanus Crucis! Yay! 🎉 However an even bigger miracle was that I finally finished that steam train illustration in celebration of this!
This illustration took me forever, mainly because I wanted to do it justice so I procrastinated heavily on it. In the end, while it didn't achieve the vision I initially hoped for it, I am glad to finally see it finished. I love the idea of the cast traveling to new places together, and you can see a bit of their personalities in the way that they travel. Cher and Frey both carry the standard Magiator suitcases that they are given to travel to new places. Wanda's suitcase is an old school carry case that she's clearly adorned with personality and various stickers of places she's possibly never been to. Iwao doesn't seem to have much possession since he seems to be able to fit all his belongings on one sling bag ... and Abel doesn't seem to carry anything on him at all.
March Summary
It was only in this month that I got around to fully completing Chapter 9, but not 10. I am stepping into dangerous waters...
This month, I also started a new illustration series idea thanks to my new scrapbooking hobby. It's the retro-pop art series! Here are some thumbnail sketches I've drafted for it:
I will be slowly finishing these illustrations up one by one for patreon ... as for what I'll eventually do with it, well, we shall see :)
April Goals
Simple, realistic goals this month: complete C10, and an illust!
