2021 New Year's Revolutions

Happy 2021! As I am no longer active on the place where this tradition started, I will continue the annual custom here! It's time for a [2020 New Year's Revolution] review! (Yes, I know it's resolution, not revolution, just roll with it). Previous years: [2015] | [2016] | [2017] | [2018] | [2019]

2020 Review

[PASSED] 1. Pass all my exams, and graduate within the year.

  • You have no idea how much I worried for this last year. It's really saying something when this is what I put at the very top of my list :') But, I did it. I passed every single exam on the first go, and I officially graduated. Now, for the next stage!

[FAILED] 2. Balance my life: allocate time appropriately, particularly between study and art. (Achieved if I can complete both 1 and 4)

  • I did try but ... sorry, I had to make some sacrifices during exam hell :'(

[PASSED] 3. Strive for true self confidence, particularly in academics and my profession.

  • Since my placement in hospital, my professional confidence that had been shattered throughout my uni journey was beautifully uplifted! I hope to continue to grow with this newfound confidence into a better professional!

[FAILED] 4. Draw an illustrated bg piece every month.

  • I don't think there ever was a chance of this happening in my final year, honestly LOL.

[PASSED] 5. Improve in my anatomy and overall illustration compositions.

  • Heck yeah.

  • Yeah, I only drew 3 OC illustrations this year, what of it?

[FAILED] 6. Publish my webcomic.

  • I've already explained why this didn't happen, so I'm not particularly hung up over this, but it will be a goal for next year for sure!

[???] 7. Be more active online - post more consistently.

  • I think I was more active online, but I don't think I was as active as I'd hoped to be.

[PASSED] 8. Stick to my schedules, and use them more.

  • Amazingly enough, I actually consistently used my scheduler for this year, and have gotten into a really good habit of consistently relying on it. It's really helped me keep myself on track, and feel productive. It's also a quick and easy documentation of my life without the time spent into writing journal entries!

[FAILED] 9. Write more journal entries.

  • Unfortunately, this was probably the year where I had the fewest journal entries in a while. I think given the nature of this year, it was a combination of nothing particularly exciting to report, as well as a very busy and stressful period of my life.

[???] 10. Learn to live a life of joy.

  • One should really define a life of joy. I suppose it is peace, appreciation, and love for what you have in your life. Being okay with pitfalls and failures, and things that don't go the way you hoped. I think I am still learning in this department.

2020 Revolution Score: 4/10 ... I SWEAR I accomplished more this year, but I guess I didn't?! To be fair I was working so hard on accomplishing one that the rest were quite neglected.

2021 New Years Revolutions 1. Pass all my exams, and become a better professional than when I started. 2. Take initiatives and work hard to secure a better future, or a clear direction for my profession by the end of the year. 3. Complete one chapter of my webcomic every month. 4. Have my webcomic published by 05/11/2021. 5. Draw at least 4 OC illustrations by the end of the year. 6. Maintain consistent updates in this blog, or personal journal entries. 7. Attend all theological gatherings with my childhood friend. 8. Push myself out of my comfort zone to learn to articulate my feelings verbally, and be quick thinking in my speech. 9. Aim to become a wiser person - a peacemaker, and someone with a profound understanding on why conflict occurs, and how to resolve them. 10. Learn to be mentally strong, and not give up when the going gets tough.

2020 was a wild ride. There was lots of ups and downs, and the last part of the year was been an absolute roller coaster. Here's to 2021, the year with much more challenges to come! May I survive it a better person! See you next update! Ciao!
